Applications are invited for this position supporting the Bursar in the many and varied aspects of this role.
Title: Bursar’s Assistant (part-time)
Hours: Part-time, 20 to 22.5 hours per week (negotiable, depending on skills and experience)
Salary: £27,985-£30,762 per annum pro rata depending on skills and experience

The Bursar’s Office
The Bursar is the senior financial officer of the College, which includes responsibility for the management of investment and the College’s property portfolio. The Bursar is also responsible for the other non-academic activities of the College. The Domestic Bursar reports to the Bursar and he is responsible for the day to day activities including Porters, Catering, Accommodation and Housekeeping, Maintenance and Gardens departments, as well as the Conference business.
The Bursar has overall responsibility for the development and implementation of human resources policy in relation to College Officers and other Fellows holding College contracts as well as all College staff and their remuneration.
The role
The tasks involved in this role will vary from time to time, and the post demands a high level of flexibility. Many aspects of the work are confidential and central to the efficient operation and future strategy of the College.
The successful candidate will have experience in secretarial or administrative roles in a senior management environment, show excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and demonstrate the ability to be flexible and able to work on their own initiative. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate numeracy and a high standard of written English.
There is a preference for the weekly hours to be worked over at least four days, though there is some flexibility as to the work pattern, which will therefore be negotiated and agreed with the successful candidate.
