Legacy Officer (6 Month Contract)
Harrogate, North Yorkshire

Are you a legacy administrator with a great eye for detail? Want to take on a highly-rewarding contract with a charity that is committed to saving lives in Yorkshire? If so, you may be the Legacy Officer we’re looking for.

About Us

We are Yorkshire Cancer Research. We’re dedicated to helping people in and around Yorkshire avoid, survive and cope with cancer.

Since 2015 we’ve been working towards our goal of 2,000 fewer people dying of cancer every year in Yorkshire. We’re working in local communities, raising awareness of cancer symptoms, making sure people attend their screenings and investing in leading-edge cancer research.

Now, we’re looking for a Legacy Officer to join our friendly team in Harrogate and carry out our legacy administration.

The Benefits

- Salary of £25,000 - £28,000 DOE pro rata
- Pension
- Offices within walking distance of the station (and on-site parking if you’d prefer to drive)
- Support a charity that is funding world-class research into cancer’s causes, diagnosis and treatment
- 25 days’ holiday pro rata

This is a brilliant opportunity to enhance your existing experience with one of the UK’s most exciting and innovative charities. We’re a leading funder of cancer research and have committed to investing £100m over the next 10 years to tackle our region’s biggest cancer problems.

Donations are integral to helping us continue this life-saving work, which is why it’s integral that each legacy we receive is processed accurately and in-line with regulatory obligations. Hopefully, that’s where you come in.

In this varied contract, you’ll have the chance to work with a highly collaborative team who are passionate about what they do and are always willing to lend a helping hand to get the job done.

We’re a Yorkshire charity for Yorkshire folk. If you think you could help us to make a huge difference to people within our communities, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

As a Legacy Officer, you’ll take ownership of the administration process for our legacies.

In this key role, you’ll perform day-to-day administration tasks and ensure all contractual, legal and regulatory obligations for legacies are met.

About You

To join us as a Legacy Officer, you’ll need:

- Previous legacy administration experience
- Experience gained in the charity or legal sector
- A high level of IT literacy, including experience of using and maintaining a database
- A highly-organised approach
- Great communication skills

We’d love to hear from you if you’ve worked as a Legacy Administrator, Legal Administrator, Giving & Legacies Officer, Legacies Officer, Giving Administrator, Donations Administrator or Administrator.

This is a full time role, however, for the right candidate, we can offer this role on a part time basis, working a minimum of three days a week.
