Management Accountant
My client is an established educational organisation who are looking for a Management Accountant.
MAIN SCOPE OF POST
Maintaining the integrity of the nominal ledgers and producing monthly consolidated management accounts and other financial information to strict deadlines. Financial management of the grant funded projects and contracts.
DUTIES
1.Produce accurate and timely consolidated management accounts to agreed deadlines.
2. Assist the Senior Management Accountant with the investigations of budget variances.
3. Maintain the nominal ledger coding structure and ensure that all transactions are correctly coded.
4. Liaise with the organisations bankers for all routine banking matters.
5. Advise budget holders on routine accounting matters as required.
6. Complete the organisations VAT returns.
7. Produce the monthly payroll journal and prepare payments of deductions.
8. Analyse the variances on the payroll budget and report to the Senior Management Accountant / Head of Finance.
9. Assist the Senior Management Accountant / Head of Finance with the production of the consolidated year end accounts.
10. Assist the Senior Management Accountant / Head of Finance in the production of budgets and forecasts.
11. Assist the Senior Management Accountant / Head of Finance with cashflow forecasting and monitoring.
12. Complete monthly control account reconciliations.
13. Carry out costings to ensure financial viability of courses and other organisation activity.
14. To co-ordinate, monitor and support the implementation of the College's grant funded and Employer Responsive contracts.
15. To make appropriate statutory returns and claims to the funding bodies of such contracts, ensuring that there is a full audit trail in support.
16. To produce budgetary and forecast information and liaise closely with project and contract managers.
17. Check supplier payment runs ensuring accuracy of payment schedules against invoices.
18. To advise staff on project and contract monitoring requirements and procedures.
19. Liaise with internal and external auditors as and when required.
20. Any other duties as may be reasonably required.
