Bury College is a Further Education College offering a wide range of courses to over 5000 full time students and over 5650 part time students each year. The college currently works with over 50 high school partners, welcoming students from Bury and the surrounding areas.
We are now looking to recruit a Purchase Ledger Clerk to provide clerical support to the Finance Section in a way which maintains financial and audit regulations so that the objectives of the College and section are achieved.
As a Purchase Ledger Clerk you will be responsible for inputting authorised requisitions onto the College Accounting system to generate purchase orders, matching invoices and purchase orders as well as processing against the appropriate supplier ledger, and investigating variances when necessary and accounting for accruals and prepayments. The role also includes duties such as the responsibility for the reconciliation of supplier statements, balance sheet codes pertaining to creditors, accruals , prepayments, bank reconciliations, bursary funds and college credit card as well as being responsible for accruing and reporting on all temporary staff on a monthly basis.
To be successful in this role, candidates must be ATT qualified (or working towards), have 12 months minimum experience in a similar role and experience in maintaining records, producing reports and have excellent knowledge of IT software packages.
Please note this role a maternity cover role and is on a fixed term basis until September 2019.
