Contract - Immediate Start

3 Months initial contract

I am currently working with a client we partner with based in Abingdon. This is for an experienced Independent Living Officer, who can work with vulnerable residents to maintain independence, wellbeing and build resilience, provide short-term intervention to resolve issues either directly or indirectly through advice, advocacy, liaison with external agencies and internal departments.

Ideally you will be experienced working with older persons services and excellent communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all work colleagues and residents. You will be a self-starter with a proactive approach and possess the ability to work without close supervision. Effective decision-making skills, a diplomatic and confidential approach and having the ability to prioritise your workload are also key requirements of this position.

You will need to have a full UK licence, as this will require driving between residential areas.

Key Skills:

??To develop a specialist skill and knowledge area which supports the effective delivery of community work and can be offered to all our supported housing residents.

??To organise and promote a programme of activities, workshops and surgeries/dropins that encourage residents to become involved whilst also developing their skills to maintain independence.

??To work with partners and groups in the local community to organise, facilitate and promote an effective programme of community activities, workshops and surgeries/drop-ins to meet our objective of building community resilience in a sustainable way.

??Use a wide range of communication methods to effectively engage with stakeholders.

??Work collaboratively with housing and other relevant teams to align activities and support their work in the local neighbourhood.
