Primestaff are working in exclusive partnership with our well-established client to recruit for a number of Permanent Opportunities in Food Production Process based in Scunthorpe. Candidates must have previous experience of working in Fast Paced Food Production Environment and be able to physically and mentally handle 12 hours working shifts.

Duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate:

* To run a production line consisting of machinery, to enable safe, efficient and hygienic cooking of products and transfer the finished product to High Risk for packing.

* To personally ensure all aspects of due diligence (Food Safety, Quality and Legislation) are adhered to.

* The role also covers clean downs and basic maintenance.

* To work within the safe working procedures

* To report any hazards or damage, to report any accidents/near misses

* Completion of any paperwork required

* Take action where appropriate and refer any products out of specification to the Technical team

* Ensure all process documentation is completed accurately and diligently

* To work within the quality controls set and report any goods that are not up to the specified quality controls

* To monitor vessel weights by using dip sticks and registering load cell weights where applicable.

* To keep up with the production plan via communication with internal departments to ensure minimal downtime.

* To ensure all products are cooked correctly to specification

* To personally ensure that all aspects of Due Diligence (Food Safety, Quality and Legislation) are adhered to.

* To personally take the appropriate and reasonable action in the event of witnessing a breach (or potential breach) of Food Safety, Quality or Legislation

Skills and experience required:

* Education - Basic level of numeracy and literacy, Good written and spoken English Essential

* Experience -Food Manufacturing experience essential, fully competent after 12 weeks training.

* Decision making -The Candidate will make a judgment of when to call for assistance from a Supervisor, an Engineer, the Technical Department or Management.Decisions made are of a routine nature and are communicated to a Supervisor/Manager. Some decisions taken have a cost and loss of business impact with regards to food safety and quality of product.

* Equipment - The Candidate will detect faults and call for engineers' assistance. Daily use of packing machinery, company systems and detection systems. Maintenance and hygiene of this equipment also.

* Communications - Daily internal verbal communication with team, Supervisor, Manager and other departments. Written communication is in the form of quality paperwork completion etc to ensure due diligence and completion of computerized systems

* Mental effort - Must sustain concentration over long periods of time and maintain knowledge of running various machinery. Must be able work and count quickly and accurately under pressure.

* Physical effort - A lot of physical effort is required. Lifting, pulling and pushing of heavy loads requires an awareness of Manual Handling. Candidate is on their feet for the majority of the shift. Must be able to work at high speed which requires physical effort maintain several pieces of equipment at one time. Work can be in hot and chilled environments.

* Dexterity - High level of hand eye co-ordination is required to ensure correct products are packed. Candidate is required to work at speed ensuring accuracy at all times. Must be able to carry out quality checks i.e. metal detector checks.

Hours:

12 hour shifts 4 on 4 off, Nights or Days

Salary GBP17319 rising to GBP19284 after training completed (approximately 12 weeks), life assurance, annual leave, pension, free food for lunch breaks
