About the role:

We're offering a fantastic opportunity to lead Joseph Rowntree Foundation's (JRF) events team . You'll scope, design and deliver excellent delegate experiences that work towards our objectives and outcomes.

We need somebody to identify effective event partners and work with them from event concept through to evaluation, delivering successful stakeholder engagement and high-quality content that leaves delegates with a positive perception of JRF and an eagerness to stay in touch.

Millions of people are locked in poverty in the UK, we don't believe that's right. That's why we've made it our mission to solve it. JRF's new strategy is to work alongside others to build public and political will for change and demand for solutions. We will develop those credible solutions with those who have the power to effect change, and we'll hold governments and others to account for their impact on people locked in poverty. This role is an important part of delivering that mission and strategy. You'll work across a talented team and will provide a channel to those that can make a difference.

We want our events to be created with and reflective of people with experience of poverty, this role presents both a challenge and an opportunity to diversify our events programme and put the communities we aim to serve right at the heart of them.

About you:

You will have significant experience of managing excellent events within a high-profile policy influencing environment. You'll have an expert understanding of how events add value within a broader public affairs strategy and will collaborate with others on the entire approach. You'll thrive within a fast-paced, politically driven environment and will be happy responding to changing briefs and situations as they arise.

You will be comfortable and experienced at managing large scale projects, suppliers, budgets and people. Your time management and drive to deliver value for money will be second to none.

You will be a highly motivated, self-starter with bags of initiative and exceptional communication skills. You'll need to be both approachable and personable, able to flex your approach and style to cater for a range of audiences and collaborators.

About us:

Joseph Rowntree Foundation is a social change organisation with a 100-year history. We're built on trust, show we care, and exist to make a difference.

We work with others to put forward sector-leading research, evidence, solutions and stories to the UK's influencers and decision makers.

We believe that a prosperous poverty-free UK is within reach, we just need more people to believe it too.

To make our vision a reality we need talent, ideas, skills and passion, plus we need to change some of what we do and how we do it too. So, we're embarking on a significant period of change. Change that will see us become an outcome focused organisation that embraces new ways of working and modern practices.

If you share our passion, then we need to hear from you.
