Porter
To work as part of a team to convey patients and equipment around the hospital site in a friendly and purposeful manner.
To provide timely collections of Hospital waste and laundry from around the hospital site.
To provide the delivery of all patient orientated equipment, blood, supplies, mail and specimens.
To operate wheelchairs, trolleys, beds and bed pushers in order to perform duties in a safe and purposeful manner.
To check all portering related equipment for defects and cleanliness throughout the day and ensure corrective action is taken where necessary, reporting all unsafe conditions of equipment
Deliver post as per daily schedules and to deliver drugs as per schedule.
Collect and/or deliver furniture and stores equipment as requested around the hospital site.
Co-operate fully in ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
Take reasonable care of your own safety and that of others who may be effected by your acts of omissions, including patients, staff and visitors.
Not, intentionally, recklessly or otherwise commit any act that adversely affects measures taken to protect the Health, Safety, Welfare and Sustainability of you or other users of the Hospital sites.
"The Company and the Trust requires its staff to maintain confidentiality and any disclosure of confidential information outside the proper and recognised course of duty will be treated as a serious disciplinary offence which could carry a penalty of dismissal. You are particularly required to note that all information about patients is always to be classified as confidential."

To ensure the highest standards of cleanliness within all work areas.
Responsible for internal & external patrols as defined in the SLA
Carry out duties as defined under the Trust fire policy
Responsible for out of hours patient food requests
To ensure the building is secure as laid out in the SLA
Responsible for the gritting of roads & car parks out of hours
