We are now seeking an Actuary to join our AFO Corporate Capital Production Team on a permanent basis.
Our AFO Corporate Team is a recently established team in York - covering all aspects of Group Actuarial & Capital Production. This team is part of the wider AFO structure and currently contains around 15 members.
This opportunity is in our Capital Production Team " the team is responsible for producing the Aviva Group SCR and supporting all Group-wide capital metrics, including important OCG and Surplus Analysis, which are published in the Groups preliminary statements as well as being including within the current Regulatory Reporting framework.
The team has a range of senior partners within Aviva Group and the role offers significant exposure to senior management throughout the wider Aviva business in these areas. Our team is also in close contact with the Business Units as we receive results and commentary from them to construct the Group position. As such, the role provides the unrivalled and interesting position of being able to see what is happening across the whole of Aviva Plc.
The role requires both technical and interpersonal skills. You will use our IM3 and SF/PIM tools on a regular basis and analyse/summarise results before onward communication to intended recipients. We hope you will also enjoy working independently; making your own judgements as and when required.
This is a good opportunity to use your technical skills whilst acquiring a broader knowledge of Aviva Plc as a whole.

Your skills & knowledge:
- Qualified or nearly qualified in the Institute/Faculty of Actuaries examinations or equivalent professional body
- Strong analytical skills and expert ability with Excel
- Ability to deal with a wide spread of our senior partners
- Deep understanding with actuarial techniques
- Deep understanding of Solvency II methodology and techniques, particularly SCR calculations
The following skills are desirable, although not essential:
- Knowledge of SCR production systems
- Experience working in Reporting roles producing QRTs and other disclosures within tight timeframes
