Duty Cargo Co-ordinator
Based: Feltham
Working Hours: 20:00 - 08:00 Friday / Saturday / Sunday / Monday
Job Summary
Responsible for ensuring the proper and timely movement and clearance of freight, Verifying and keeping records on import and export cargo processed through our Heathrow Airport Handling Facility as well as providing exceptional customer service whilst maintaining and strict quality standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Arranging the transfer of cargo between airline sheds.
- Reception and Release of drivers for both export and import cargo.
- Checking and Preparing airline and customs documentation for both exports and imports.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and policies
- Ensure paperwork related to the shipments is correct.
- Assure proper compliance with HMR&C and UK Border Force laws and regulations
- Follow Dangerous Goods Requirements and Regulations
- Comply with any other general office / warehouse duties as assigned
Position Specification
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operating system
- Verification of customs declaration information
- Track and trace Customs files
- Interact with customs authorities to address any issues/questions.
- Attend customs inspections or present documents to authorities when such are requested
- Act as the liaison on shift between customs authorities (or other government agencies and customers)
- Ensure timely customs clearance of cargo to customer for Import and Export shipments
- Verify documents received for Import and Export customs purposes are compliant and correct
- Interact with our customers in arranging their international shipments, meeting customer service standards
- Contribute to maintain strong relationships with customs officers
- Overseas communications, timely responses to emails and requests (internal and external)
- Ensure compliance at all times to regulations
Qualifications and Competencies
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- IT Literate
- Ability to follow processes and procedures and apply flexible approach when required
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Previous ETSF background and knowledge advantageous.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of Dangerous Goods / ADR advantageous
