AutoCAD Draughtsman

AutoCAD Draughtsman required for our Witham based manufacturers. Our client is a very long-standing, well-respected company who take pride in manufacturing and delivering high-quality products. As AutoCAD Draughtsman you will produce specification elevation drawings using AutoCAD Hardware drawings for export. In your role as AutoCAD Draughtsman, you will also be issuing fabrications drawings to the client for comments and approval and also pass to the technical detailing department. It is essential for this position that you possess a strong background in AutoCAD design with ideally some experience of V6 software and be able to work collaboratively with a range of internal and external customers.

The Role

• Create special fittings drawings.
• Amend drawings to reflect clients' alterations and re-issue for approval.
• Produce fabrication drawings to meet with company product guidelines.
• Obtain written confirmation from client to enable manufacture to commence.
• Liaise with internal and external customers to obtain required information in a timely manner
• Attend Site meetings if required.
• Maintain the project file, documents and correspondence and ensure full history of project is available
• Ensure final contract sum can be calculated, issued to client and special purchase items are available when required.
• Liaise with Line Manager, Production Planning and Site Management to ensure latest drawings are checked with manufacturing documents.
• Arrange for product samples to be provided as requested.
• Working hours - Mon-Thursday 08.25 - 16.55 and Friday 08.25 - 15.25

The Person

• Competent CAD knowledge as well as confident MS office skills
• Previous experience within manufacturing ideally in the window industry
• Understanding of manufacturing procedures
• Work collaboratively with internal and external customers including Architects, Main Contractors, Councils, Suppliers and Distributors.
• Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
• Ideally knowledge of V6 software
• Good team player, but able to work alone on isolated project
