Remuneration is dependent on experience however the package on offer is in keeping with what would be expected at this level to ensure we attract the highest calibre of candidates.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer your main duties would be as follows:

  • Responsible for the planning, leadership, execution and evaluation of all company activities including business development, manufacturing, people and financial management.
  • Leadership of commercial and legal negotiations.
  • Overall responsibility for financial management, ensuring that the company's financial performance is easily understood and there is compliance with regulation and legislation in conjunction with CEO.
  • Devise and implement an annual budgeting process with monitoring and feedback.
  • Report exceptions to budget swiftly and clearly to the CEO and other stakeholders as soon as they become apparent.
  • Work with the Operations Management team to increase manufacturing margin, through performance and productivity improvements as a result of appropriate goal setting, communication and teamwork.
  • Utilise Lean Production and continual improvement techniques so that the day to day activities of the company meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Work with other stakeholders to resolve any resource conflicts or constraints with the aim of optimising overall business performance.
  • Point of contact for legal matters and commercial negotiations.
  • Recruit and develop staff in conjunction with the Office Manager.
  • Develop a high performing leadership team.
  • Provide mentorship for colleagues (as necessary), assisting their professional development and where appropriate helping them to execute successfully on defined targets.
  • Manage and oversee all day-to-day operations of the Company taking action wherever appropriate to ensure the business is meeting the goals set by the CEO
  • Facilitate the strategic planning process and take the lead in its execution.

The ideal candidates will have the following attributes and experience:

  • Be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a technical discipline.
  • Have extensive experience of running and managing a business.
  • Capability in effective budget control, Management Accounting and delivery against targets.
  • Senior Management experience - experience of operating in a board level position.
  • Business career to include off-Island and international experience.
  • Sound understanding of national and international economic issues and policies.
  • Working knowledge of Lean practice / continuous improvement.
  • Good track record of meeting targets, results focussed.
  • Able to seek out and develop new income generating business opportunities.
  • Be an innovative and strategic thinker.
  • An effective communicator with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Have a high standard of personal presentation and credibility.
  • Have a high level of personal integrity and confidentiality.
