‘Deliver high quality homes and services for our customers’ is one of our five strategic aims and the one that sets out our commitment to our customers. whg is a customer focused organisation with a strong social purpose. We are one of the West Midlands leading and most successful providers of high quality homes with a presence in 18 Local Authorities. We have aspiring success measures to meet and we are confident that we can achieve them.

You will be responsible for providing an effective and quality grounds work service, including paving, slabbing, fencing and digging. You will be working within our customers’ homes (as well as void properties) therefore good customer service skills are essential.

We are looking for Ground Workers who are hard working and committed, and work efficiently to see a job through to the end. Good communication skills are a must, as you will work as part of a team with our other Trades colleagues, as well as being able to complete tasks independently.

If you enjoy working with customers, and are looking for a new challenge, then you could be the Ground Worker we are looking for!

Experience of working in the social housing sector is not needed, but recent experience of a similar role is however essential. What is really important is your ability to forge relationships with our customers and demonstrate our values, to effectively carry out your duties, and deliver an excellent service to our customers.

You will need a full driving licence and the ability to travel efficiently from location to location around whg housing stock.

If this sounds like the role for you we would love to hear from you. In return, you will receive a competitive salary and a great benefits package, including a Learning and Development and progression opportunities, 27 days annual leave, a defined benefit pension scheme, health cash plan and childcare vouchers.

whg is committed to safer recruitment and to the protection and safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults and will conduct appropriate background checks where necessary.
