About Us

We also provide special educational needs and disability (SEND) mediation and disagreement resolution meetings. This enables families and young people, up to the age of 25, an opportunity resolve disputes throughout the education, health and care plan (EHCP) process.

A great opportunity has arisen in the mediation service for a Mediation Co-ordinator (Interviews to be held on 28th November).

As our Mediation Co-ordinator you will;

Be the first point of contact for families and young people seeking support through the SEND mediation and disagreement resolution service and will provide a quality, professional, effective and efficient service.

You will take detailed case histories from families seeking support from the service by liaising with local authorities, schools, mediators and other professionals in order to follow up referrals and arrange mediation meetings, in line the with the SEND Code of Practice 2014.

You will be expected to act in a professional, impartial, empathetic and flexible in your approach and be prepared to undertake varied duties. You should be able to work independently to support the mediation team and service, and use your initiative to undertake tasks which may not be explicit within the job description.

About you

You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with a wide range of audiences, including parents, local authorities, professionals and other employees within the Together Trust. You will be an effective and supportive team member, have the capability to work in an organised and methodical manner and be proficient in Microsoft Office and other IT systems, including databases and spread sheets. You will also have the ability to identify work priorities and manage your own workload to meet deadlines, show sensitivity and objectivity in dealing with confidential issue, have the ability to problem solve and be receptive to new ideas, approaches and challenges.
