The Role - Field Service Engineer, Traffic Systems

This market leader now seeks to recruit an experienced Electrical Field Service Engineer, to undertake the checking, testing, repair and maintenance of customers installed equipment, to cover mainly Traffic Systems, CCTV, Lighting, ANPR Cameras & Crossing Furniture

Full responsibilities include:

1: Routine and corrective maintenance of traffic signal equipment and/or other highways systems

2: Periodic Inspections of traffic signal equipment and / or highways systems equipment including electrical testing

3: Accurate collection and processing of data to enable fault free analysis of equipment performance

4: Analysis of data to assess performance of equipment within contractual requirements, ensuring correct storage of information once process complete.

5: Respond to ad hoc customer requests when agreed with line manager

6: Out of hours working to support service contract requirements Standby for emergency repairs

7: Successful completion of mandatory NHSS training requirements

8: Undertake appropriate training with the addition of new equipment and systems as and when necessary, via formal and informal training, including on the job training.

9: Coach others to be able to perform tasks within the role when necessary

10: In accordance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, all employees have a duty to comply with all Health and Safety Procedures and to be alert in identifying potential hazards by removing or minimising them wherever possible.

Your Background - Field Service Engineer, Traffic Systems

To be considered for this role, you should be able to demonstrate the following experience:

1: Electrical service and repair and experience

2: Ideally qualified in electrical engineering, from HNC / ONC/ City and Guilds or equivalent experience in electrical engineering or similar

3: Outlook - co-operative, helpful, willing to use initiative and conscientious.

4: Flexibility - willing to change, move from one activity or work area to another, learn new activities, pick up new jobs confidently and easily.

5: Effectiveness - drive and energy applied to work, accuracy and reliability, ability to get things right first time.

6: IT - familiarity with product specific software

7: Teamwork - work towards the team's goals, work well with other people, communicate effectively within the team and contribute to a high standard of team morale.

8: Organisation - prioritisation of tasks, attention to detail

9: Must hold full UK Driving License

10: Ideally experience of working outside and working at heights

11: Working as part of a team and working unsupervised

12: Testing of electrical equipment in an industrial environment
