Trainer/Assessor – Engineering

Derby College are currently looking to recruit engineering industry specialists to join our team of Trainer / Assessors on our National Contracts provision.

You will undertake work-based assessments, supporting the young engineers of the future within a variety of settings, ensuring achievement of agreed performance and quality targets. You will be expected to maintain above average success rates in all areas, using innovation within your assessing and utilising e-learning opportunities where appropriate.  Here at Derby College, we encourage all staff to provide students with a great range of learning opportunities.

The successful candidate will have proven experience of providing outstanding support for learners and will be flexible, self-motivated and dedicated to student achievement and quality. Training and assessing experience within engineering disciplines is essential and an A1 Assessor award (or equivalent) will be required, if not held, then you should be willing to work towards. V1 or equivalent would be desirable, as is an understanding of Awarding Bodies standards and frameworks.

We are looking for people who can bring not just industry knowledge and experience, but who can impart life skills and teach the apprentices to be effective and invaluable members of their workforce.
