Water Policy Manager

Full Time (35 Hours)

The Wildlife Trusts are looking for an exceptional person to help us achieve our vision for the freshwater environment. We believe that people are part of nature; everything we value ultimately comes from it and everything we do has an impact on it. Our vision is for people to be close to nature, with land and seas rich in wildlife. We want wildlife-rich catchments and ecological solutions to be centre-stage in flood-risk and drought management, and in water purification. We want to see wildlife-rich places that hold water being widespread in the landscape, and land and watercourses managed to slow the flow of water towards the sea. Can you help us achieve our vision?

Do you have a passion for wildlife and a solid understanding of nature conservation in the freshwater environment? Do you want to work at the centre of our dynamic grassroots movement which is made up of people from a wide range of backgrounds and all walks of life, who share a set of common beliefs?  We have over 800,000 members, 40,000 volunteers, 2,000 staff and 600 trustees. across the UK, all working together for nature’s recovery. Do you want to raise the profile of our freshwater work, build partnerships with other NGOs and businesses, and convince decision-makers to make policies that work for rather than against our freshwater environment by working in fast-paced policy, public affairs and campaigning team?

If the answer is yes to some or all of the above, we want to hear from you.

We value courage, respect, integrity, trust and responsibility.  Whilst we are passionate in promoting our aims, we are not judgemental, and we are inclusive.  Our society is divided, and The Wildlife Trusts want to reduce, not increase, that division.

The Wildlife Trusts is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.
