The Team

We are currently recruiting a Global IT Finance Manager to join our established Global IT Department as member of the Global IT Controls Team.

The Global IT Controls team led by our Global Head of IT Controls, provides support and advice across the Global IT department which also includes IT Procurement, Business Continuity, Quality Assurance, and Client Audit support

This role will predominately support the Global CIO, IT Procurement and the Senior IT leadership team to deliver the global IT strategy of standardization, consolidation and rationalization whilst delivering value for money both operationally and tactically.

The Role

The Global IT Finance Manager will report into the Global Head of IT Controls and will have regular communications with the Global CIO, senior IT leadership, senior business stakeholders and project sponsors to support and qualify the cost effective delivery of high quality services from the department.

The main focus of the role is to analyse, and deliver global financial and benchmark information in a timely manner to the key stakeholders, as well as providing commercial guidance and financial advice to the department and the wider project community.

The post holder will also co-ordinate the submission of an appropriately reviewed global budget submission and it's ongoing reforecasting. This is in the context of a Swiss Verein accounting structure, with multiple regional and centralised budgets, which will require significant negotiation of acceptable charges to the contributing regional entities in conjunction with product and service owners.

A high degree of negotiation and presenting will be required to senior IT and Business Leadership, backed by personal data analysis and a detailed understanding of the cost drivers, IT strategy and project initiatives.

Specific Responsibilities

The detailed responsibilities include but are not limited to;

Support the Global CIO and senior IT leadership team in the cost benefit analysis of the current operational efficiency and report on global actual spend against budget target forecasts.
Co-ordinate the annual group shared budget cycle. This will involve liaising with the global and regional managers across the global IT department.
Coordinate the response to any required operational cost benchmarks.
Preparation and publication of regular financial reports with associated commentaries, specifically relating to monthly salary and headcount reports, actual & reforecast Global IT spend and consolidating in regional reports on agreed frequencies.
Continual monitoring of financial performance, identifying and reporting areas of opportunity and risk with supporting plans to remediate the risk or realise the opportunity.
Working closely with IT procurement to identify areas where efficiencies can be achieved and savings realised.
Support those responsible for budget performance in understanding their cost drivers and work with them and IT procurement to identify areas of improvement.
Support the Global PMO by providing financial control and governance to globally delivered projects.
Provide business case support for group shared projects ensuring the financials present a true and fair view.
Transparently report the IT Group "shared" costs and the method for apportioning costs ensuring the approach is the most equitable.
Getting regions to agree to their percentage of global costs and resolving problems. Building strong relationships with regional CIOs and regional finance departments
Working with the multiple centralized budgets to facilitate with product and service owners, as necessary, equitable recharge methodologies and regional approval to these approaches.
Inputting into the existing and planned global SAP rollout to ensure IT requirements are taken into account across all regions
Participating in the end-to-end procurement process development and assisting IT procurement with its roll-out and efficient operation Liaising with procurement function to support their activities and validate savings

Skills and Experience Required

A solid grounding and a breadth and depth of post qualification experience.
A recognized professional accountancy qualification.
Experience of working within technology and technology services.
Commercially focused with strong personal analysis skills.
Experience of working with shared service organizations and apportioning costs equitably.
Advanced MS Excel experience with SAP experience highly desirable.
Strong presentation skills, with proven ability of presenting financial information to non-finance professionals.
Flexible approach to working hours with the ability to work under pressure
Ability to build strong business relationships
Confidence and willingness to deal with people at all levels
