The Role:

The Finance Business Partner role will provide a strong link between the Finance team and each of the other main directorates at Longhurst. Providing a key financial lead for one of Longhurst’s main business areas and support to the management team in each area to deliver their own strategies and plans. 

The focus of the role is in providing financial support to key senior internal decision makers to support areas such as; decision making, budgeting, forecasting, analysis and forward planning, ensuring the finance function is able to provide a modern, efficient and customer focused financial service to the whole organisation.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced finance business partner to deliver a customer focussed finance service to support our Development/Sales and Asset Management colleagues in the delivery of our development programme, commercial development and property improvement programme.

Ideally, the candidate will possess:

• A recognised accountancy qualification and/or relevant professional         qualification
• Significant experience of capital projects/joint venture activities
• Experience of scoping/managing projects at Corporate level
• Knowledge and understanding of producing management reports, variance            analysis, business case analysis and costing
• Wide accounting knowledge and understanding
• Experienced at providing a customer focused finance service
• Significant business partnership experience
• Knowledge, or direct experience, of the social housing sector
• A strong communicator and able to present financial information to a wide range of audiences in a user-friendly manner
• Experience of compiling budgets/long term business plans and forecasts 
• Experience of using and administering computerised accounting systems
• Advanced Excel skills
• Be self-motivated, driven, and enthusiastic
• Be a team player with a flexible and friendly approach
