Our client has an opportunity for a Materials Scheduler to develop and improve opportunities, and promote continuous improvement across their Manufacturing site. 

Reporting into the Materials Planning coordinator, your role will require you to utilise available planning systems to convert sales forecasts into achievable productions; all material plans and schedules will optimally balance customer service and operational cost efficiency.  You will proactively manage risk within the planned ‘demand and amend’ orders; ensuring stock targets are kept whilst maintaining a high level of customer service.  All share forecast with suppliers are to be worked, providing a resolution to all issues relating to materials availability. 

You will be required to provide assistance towards measuring, minimising and publishing expected obsolete/over stocks, whilst championing ongoing communications with the operations teams to ensure accurate exchange of information.  As well as proposing and implementing continuous improvement within your area, you will maintain a state of perpetual audit readiness, to ensure working practices are compliant at all times.

Key Areas, Roles & Responsibilities:

  • MRP Management;  tracking usage & demand for correct levels of materials on site to support OTIF KPI
  • Maintain accurate & continual stock counting and control
  • Collect and analysis data and report
  • Manage & monitor Material Yield
  • Provide feedback on Supplier performance to ensure cost effective supply
  • Setting up and assisting with Goods inwards compliance
  • Facilitation of material flow and co-ordinate warehouse picking.
  • Setting up of new products in line with NPI strategy
  • Reporting of E & O stock
  • Delivery of Kan Ban process compliance to ensure continuous production flow
  • Support and assist Continuous Improvement opportunities
  • Establish SOP documentation for all Material Processes
  • 5S Compliance stores

  • Proactive positive attitude with a desire for improvement and constructive change.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in both the office and factory.
  • Understanding and use of LEAN / KAN BAN Methodologies (desirable)
  • Strong interpersonal skills; the ability to influence and communicate across all levels of the business.
  • Excellent use of IT systems and Microsoft Office skills, with advance experience in Excel and MRP stock systems
  • Good attention to detail; organised manner and the ability to prioritise your work load effectively.
  • A working background of Material Planning / Supply Chain analysis experience.
