Acorn Recruitment is actively recruiting for an experienced Multi- Skilled Engineer for our manufacturing client in Barnsley.
Our client is continuing their growth through the UK and due to demand and success they have recently acquired a new business in Barnsley.
The main focus of the role will be to work closely with the production team, ensuring that machine down time is kept to an absolute minimum and that all maintenance plans are conducted in advance to avoid disruption to production.
The role is offered on a 3 shift rotation basis (days, afternoons and nights).
The successful candidates will be Multi-skilled with an electrical bias.
Key responsibilities of the role will be to electrically fault find on single and three phase systems, servomotors and AC motors, sensors and other various control systems as well as some electrical installation, lighting etc.
Mechanically, you will be required to manage and maintain drive train systems, rollers, gears boxes, shafts, pneumatic systems and some hydraulic systems. You will have the ability to also dismantle machine assemblies down to component level and rebuild correctly.
Responsibilities will also include ensuring that spare parts, materials and equipment are readily available in the event of a breakdown, troubleshoot and rectify reasons for machinery speed loses and breakdowns, as well as both electrical and mechanical reactive and pro-active maintenance.
To be considered for this role, candidates must have demonstrable maintenance experience and ideally be time served, degree or NVQ qualified in an electrical and mechanical engineering discipline. 17th Edition qualified preferred.
Please note that this role is offered on a 3 shift rotation basis of days, afternoons and nights.
Days: 6.00am - 2.00pm (Monday - Friday).
Afternoons: 2.00pm - 10.00pm (Monday- Friday).
Nights: 10.00pm - 6.00am (Sunday - Friday).
