Principal Mechanical Engineer

We have a fantastic permanent opportunity for a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy in Croydon. Our client delivers a varied range of projects to sectors including Aviation, Education, Healthcare, Sport and Leisure. With a prestigious client base and increasing workload, they are seeking an experienced Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team.

The selected candidate will have a number of roles and responsibilities working on a number of exciting projects across the UK. Key tasks will include:

• Managing the delivery of a number of Building Services projects
• Collaborating and liaising with other engineering disciplines to successfully deliver projects
• Liaising with clients and other key stakeholders to update on progress and ensure strong working relationships
• Providing technical advice as and when required
• Reviewing designs on projects
• Acting as a mentor to junior and less experienced team members

The skills, experience and attributes required for this role include:

• Proven experience leading building services and multidisciplinary projects
• Strong Mechanical Engineering background
• MSc in a relevant subject
• Chartered status with CIBSE
• Enthusiastic and ambitious with excellent communication skills
• Specific experience working on Aviation projects would be beneficial
• Prior experience working in a client facing role
