One in six people in the UK will have a disability in their lifetime and we want to make sure they have the opportunity to live their lives to their full potential.

We are the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of services for disabled people and this year will directly support over 7,000 disabled people in the UK. Our services include high-quality care and community support together with innovative projects supporting disabled people into education, employment and entrepreneurship. In 2017 we launched our new strategy to radically improve the life choices of people with disabilities, articulating our aim to support journeys towards independence.

In this role you will work closely with the Operations Manager for Wales, with our social care services to improve service quality and regulatory compliance through service audits, inspections and improvement planning and monitoring.  You will also support our wider quality assurance and governance arrangements through policy and strategy development.

You will work alongside the Operations Manager for Wales, with service managers and frontline staff, to realise service improvements providing advice and guidance to services on those areas and keeping up to date with relevant legislation and regulation.

With management experience in the health and social care sector, experience of supporting service improvements, and of working with people with disabilities, you will have a genuine understanding and commitment to the social model of disability, be prepared to work flexible hours and to travel frequently across Wales.

If you are an effective communicator, have excellent written skills including the preparation of formal reports and are self-motivated, with the ability to both set and meet deadlines, this is an exciting opportunity for you if you also have a commitment to the values and ethos of Leonard Cheshire.

Whilst not a requirement, we ideally want candidates from a nursing background.

A satisfactory disclosure check may be required for this post.

Leonard Cheshire welcomes applications from all sections of the community.

Shortlisting for this role may take place as applications are received. We therefore reserve the right to close this vacancy once a suitable candidate has been appointed.
