Starting salary: £21,074

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual with good data and IT skills to join a thriving local government association. The successful applicant will provide data analysis to the UK’s largest Local Government benchmarking service along with IT support to the office.

APSE is a UK-wide local government association and provides a range of services to Local Authorities including advice and research, consultancy, benchmarking and training.

The successful individual will provide data analysis support to the benchmarking process, maintain systems to process data, populate databases, interrogate and produce reports.  They will also assist in the maintenance of APSE’s IT systems, update the website and provide IT support in the use of applications to APSE staff.

In order to apply you should have the following skills and experience:

  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent IT skills including the use of Microsoft Excel and Access at an advanced level
  • Experience of working with large data sets
  • Experience of updating web content management systems

The successful applicant will receive the following benefits:

  • Flexible working hours (Flexi-time, 35 hours per week); Monday to Friday
  • The post is on a grading scale with a starting salary of £21,074. The successful candidate may progress through the scale based on experience up to a maximum salary of £30,756
  • 24 days holiday + all statutory public holidays
  • Able to apply to join the Local Government Pension Scheme
