Our client is one of the UK's largest, privately owned manufacturers of carpentry and joinery products, serving both residential and commercial sectors nationwide. The company has over 25 years door set experience and has grown and expanded into high performance door sets.
As part of continued growth plans, they are looking to recruit a Field Sales Manager, to further expand the company throughout the construction, residential and commercial markets, across London and South East of England.
The ideal candidate will have been in a similar role within the construction sectors, building relationships with house builders and developers, contractors, sub-contractors and architects. They will have primary knowledge and expertise related to the company's core products ranges, internal performance Door sets and timber staircases in manufacture, design & installation within the intended environment.
This role requires strategic thinking, and the successful candidate will have experience comfortably converting objectives and activity; identifying business-win prospects with the capacity to maximise revenue opportunities and have confidence in their ability to close the deal.
This role is an externally based, field sales position and the successful candidate must be able to work from a home location to conduct daily business activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Actively market the company, to generate new business and tender opportunities
* Manage existing customer base on designated territory
* Build relationships at a senior level within the assigned accounts and be the main contact throughout the development phases of the project
* To keep abreast of the challenges facing the sector including UK along with market dynamics from a customer and supplier basis
* To get products specified by architects and contractors
* To host factory tours and client training, such as tool box talks and CPD's
* To advise on building standards and regulatory requirements
* To advise on product technical specifications
* To complete liaise with internal commercial and technical departments to produce necessary paperwork and on occasions be available to provide estimates / tenders
* Attend sales & internal meetings as and when required
* Visit sites to conduct measurements (on occasions), hold pre start and required project meetings
* To project manage orders through to delivery
* Working to designated personal and team targets
* Be an active member of the Commercial team
* Control expenses within Budget
Knowledge:
* Proven track record of success within a challenging sales environment
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a commercial role ideally within the Construction industry.
* Has experience and is a confident presenter with CPD delivery
* Understand our product and have associated knowledge
* Good networker, well connected, excellent communicator
* Experienced in providing account management
* Experience working within a targeted, focused environment
