Key responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- leading on personal loan pricing strategy, new business and re-financing, ensuring appropriate pricing for risk in support of new customer and P&L objectives;
- leading on personal loan targeting and decisioning strategies, working closely with Credit Risk to ensure the right balance between growth and margin management;
- leading on personal loan value and commercial analytics, including Unit of 1 analysis and ensuring visibility and delivery against target RoE trajectories;
- ensuring Loans Data Warehouse SME capability across team, establishing control frameworks and managing alignment across NewDay and 3rd party teams;
- developing and optimising a comprehensive MI reporting and analytics capability;
- establishing an operating rhythm to support wider analytics requests from other parts of the team; and
- being an active member within the Own Brands Commercial Leadership team, inputting into overall strategic direction and vision, and ensuring delivery against NewDay Manifesto values.
Criteria for selection
The candidate must possess the following attributes:
- have an unsecured personal loans or credit cards background;
- have proven expertise in unsecured lending pricing strategy and risk-based pricing frameworks;
- have proven experience in managing analytical teams to deliver insight and business objectives;
- have commercial expertise, with P&L oversight capability and value-add strategy development;
- have proven profitability or NPV modelling capability;
- have knowledge of consumer lending regulation and market trends;
- have excellent people management skills, including leadership, coaching and development;
- have a proven ability to engage and influence senior leadership; and
- have SAS, SQL or similar data package knowledge.
