£200 per week (for first year)

(Day release, one day – Loughborough College)

Are you looking to kick start your career with an Engineering Apprenticeship? Perhaps you have commenced University or further education and feel that the course is not the one for you and you would be better suited to gaining a qualification via the apprenticeship route. Our well-known client in Loughborough have a fantastic opportunity for an Apprentice Engineer to join their Quality Engineering team. We are looking for a committed apprentice with a genuine interest in quality control and an aspiration to follow this career path.

You will enjoy “learning on the job” working towards a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering, achieving a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Engineering at the end of the successful completion of your apprenticeship.

We are seeking applications from candidates with the following:

• 5 GCSE’s, preferably Maths, English, Science
• Excellent communication skills
• Good standard of PC literacy, including Microsoft Office packages
• Genuine interest in engineering, electronics, environment, science
• Attention to detail and with good problem-solving skills
• Confident when challenging defects
• Able to work in a tidy manner and accurately

After completion of your apprenticeship you will be competent in the following:

• Conduct daily quality inspections
• Inspection of finished goods
• Calibration
• Evaluating weld test integrity of all fabricators
• Material testing
• Handling of customer complaints
• Contribute to the conducting of internal audits
• Continuous improvement projects
