Working within the kitchen and restaurant of our residential home (sheltered housing) for older people, the role involves a range of kitchen and front of house duties including:
* Preparing and serving food and beverages to our residents, their families, other St Monica Trust employees and external visitors;
* Preparing trays and trolleys for internal meetings and events;
* Cleaning kitchen areas including ovens, fryers, hobs dishwashers;
* Maintaining stock of dry goods;
* Washing up cutlery, crockery and kitchen utensils.
What we're looking for:
Previous experience of Food Hygiene, Catering and Health and Safety would be useful for this role however we do offer full training. Naturally we're looking for a person with exceptional customer service skills including the ability to interact and build a good rapport with residents and other customers. While it's not essential to have worked within a care setting, you will have an understanding of older people's needs. Alongside this you'll be able to demonstrate patience and flexibility.
This is a fast-paced environment - the restaurant and kitchens have very busy periods - as such the role needs someone who can use their initiative, work well in a team and be able to think on their feet.
If you are ready for this new challenge, we look forward to hearing from you.
Monday to Friday 4pm to 7pm = 15 hours per week.
