Make our school a place where children thrive

Every classroom, every playground, every hall: at Witherslack Group, we're dedicated to making sure that children and young people can learn in safe, well maintained schools. Our facilities are outstanding and we want them to stay that way. Which is why we need a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to uphold the highest standards. With your help, we'll continue to change thousands of young lives for the better through our homes and schools. Be part of a team that's helping children with special educational needs to build promising futures - and enjoy a fulfilling career.

The role

You'll supervise a skilled team to carry out maintenance and general repairs. Together, you'll fix problems and keep school grounds spick and span. The aim is to make sure the school meets Health & Safety regulations, while giving staff and pupils a pleasant learning environment. In short, it's all about creating a place where children and young people are free to grow and thrive. As Supervisor, you'll liaise with the Regional Property Manager and support the Head Teacher at the school. You'll keep both up-to-date with any issues and the results of your safety inspections. With responsibility for keeping school vehicles in good condition too, you'll play a key role in the everyday life of the school.

Your profile

An experienced supervisor, you've managed a site before. You can organise teams and contractors, as well as provide support and guidance. You're also ready to roll up your sleeves and tackle repairs and maintenance yourself. Up to speed on Health & Safety, you'll know how to apply regulations. Crucially, you have the motivation and flexibility to work as part of a dedicated team. Here, it's an early (8.00am) start - and you'll need your own transport. If you also have good literacy and numeracy plus an organised approach, we can give you the chance to take further training and work with senior management.

For children with complex, challenging needs, the level of care and education must go above and beyond. That's what drives us, here at Witherslack Group. With our high staff-to-child ratio and in-house clinical teams, we're proud to have won a reputation for excellence. Our aspirational homes, schools and ethos help us achieve the best possible outcomes. In short, we're enhancing life opportunities.

Reward

Our salary and benefits package is among the best in our sector. You'll enjoy a competitive salary, contributory pension (matched up to 5%), comprehensive induction and ongoing training, 35 days' holiday (including bank holidays), Medicash Health Plan/Employee Assistance, Cycle to Work and tax free childcare vouchers. Witherslack conducts DBS Enhanced checks and covers the costs for all new employees.
