Lana Premadasa at CK Science is recruiting for an Immunoassay Development Scientist at a company developing a handheld diagnostic device capable of accurately testing for the vast majority of biomarkers from a pinprick of blood. This role is based at their site in Oxford on a permanent basis and offered with a salary of GBP28,000 - GBP35,000 per annum.
The Company:
Our client is currently developing a device that will change the diagnostics industry. The technology is based on years of world-class academic research from the University of Oxford, and has been successfully proven in a research lab. This role will be part of the delivery team and development lab to create a prototype device ready to go to market.
Location:
This role is located in beautiful Oxford. The site is easily commutable from Oxford train station.
The Role:
Your main duties will be:
- Antibody testing, optimising experimental conditions to ensure optimal assay performance
- Assay validation against benchmark techniques
- Testing assay performance in different materials and surfaces
- Development of novel assay format to increase performance and reproducibility
- Data collection and analysis
- Interact with a large, technically diverse team of scientists and engineers to integrate and optimise sensors for reliable operation with minimal user intervention
Your Background:
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- MSc / PhD (or equivalent) in a related subject
- Good knowledge of ELISA, SPR, Western blotting, protein quantification, immunohistochemistry and PCR
- Knowledge of antibody characterisation and modification
- Experience with handling of blood and blood products
