Reed Accountancy & Finance are working closely with a leading player within the hospitality and tourism industry and are actively recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join their team. This is a full time permanent opportunity.

Hours of work are 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

The Role:

Reporting to the Purchase Ledger Manager, the Finance Assistant will be responsible for performing a variety of clerical accounting functions, mainly in relation to the accounts payable ledger within the finance department.

More specific duties will involve:

Posting of Supplier invoices/credits daily on receipt
Marrying up of Purchase invoices to Purchase orders and GRN's
Advising of delivery and pricing discrepancies to supplier/internal departments
Communicating queries directly with the suppliers both verbally and written
Ensuring that invoices are approved in accordance with company guidelines
Undertake supplier account reconciliations monthly
Ensure that all invoices are scanned and filed accordingly and are accessible at all times
Assist with month end process in relation to accruals, prepayments and fixed assets
Carry out periodic analysis on purchasing performance by supplier, department etc.
Reconcile control accounts to Trial balance level
General office filing and keeping records organised
Any ad hoc duties to support the Finance function and the Finance Office Manager as and when required.
Compliance with all overall company and departmental specific Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
Proactive and positive approach to embracing organisational Health & Safety culture.

Qualifications/Experience:

At least 1 years' Experience within a busy Finance Office predominantly purchase ledger
A minimum of 5 GCSE's or equivalent (Grades A-C including Maths & English)
A good working knowledge of Sage 200
Demonstrate competence in the use of computer based financial management systems
Demonstrate competence in the design and use of spread sheets
Advanced Microsoft Office skills in particular advanced MS Excel
A high level of interpersonal and negotiating skills with the ability to communicate effectively
