Costs Draftsperson

My client, a top tier full practice firm are recruiting experienced Costs Draftspersons to join their growing specialist legal costs division based in Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool.

This is a rare opportunity to join a market leading firm offering a competitive salary of 25-40K with excellent benefits.

Applications are being accepted from candidates with experience of drafting bills of costs; costs budgets; and points of reply/dispute with costs negotiation skills and experience. You will have an ability to work independently or as part of a team and be able to handle costs in a range of personal injury and clinical negligence matters with knowledge of using costs drafting software such as Costsmaster or IDraft.

The ideal candidate will have experience of attending CCMCs and Detailed Assessment Hearings with around 2-3 years' experience in legal costs litigation but applications will still be considered for those with more or less experience. You will be confident in handling your own costs caseload from start to finish and be able to demonstrate consistent high client care/service skills.

The successful candidate will join a proactive, forward-thinking team in which you will be responsible for drafting bills/schedules of costs; costs budgets; points of reply (or dispute); negotiating costs settlements or attending CCMCs or detailed assessment hearings (if required). Your caseload will consist of costs recovery and sometimes adverse costs from fast track litigation to complex, high value, specialist PI litigation and clinical negligence.
