We are an effective and powerful voice – championing everyone who works in education.

We are now seeking to recruit a Clerical Administrative Assistant on a permanent basis to join our team in new NEU East Midlands Regional Office in Nottingham. This is an exciting opportunity to be a crucial part of the team establishing NEU East Midlands Region.

Prospective applicants are advised that this is a full time role, but we would welcome applications from individuals seeking part-time, job-share or other flexible working arrangements.

The successful candidate will join a small, busy team dealing with telephone and email enquiries and providing secretarial and administrative support for the professional staff, including a solicitor.

They will also need to have good typing speeds and skills in using a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, as well as being able to use and maintain office database systems.

The tasks required will include arranging and preparing for a variety of meetings, courses and events, maintaining databases, producing and processing correspondence and statistics and dealing with telephone and email enquiries.

We are looking for applicants who can work flexibly as part of a team with good organisational skills, who are able to prioritise, to work under pressure and at times to use their own initiative.  The ability to deal with telephone calls in a confident and professional manner is essential.

We offer good conditions including a commencing salary of £22,833 pa (inclusive of £978 luncheon allowance), 33 days annual leave plus 4 days paid additional holiday entitlement as the NEU office closure days at Christmas and a final salary pension scheme.
