Our Client, is seeking an Apprentice Carpenter to join their team Wiveliscombe. You will be trained on the job and will be working towards an NVQ Level 2 and becoming a fully qualified Carpenter.
The role will include:
* Cutting timber, skirting boards and fit wooden structures, like floor and roof joists, roof timbers, partition walls, and door and window frames (first fixings)
* Installing skirting boards, door surrounds, doors, cupboards and shelving, as well as door handles and locks (second fixings)
* Handling and storing materials ready for use
* Assisting trade professionals and maintaining high levels of health and safety on site
* Training towards NVQ Level 2 Wood Occupation, NVQ Level 2 Site Carpentry and Level 1 Math's and English (if needed)
The ideal candidate will have:
* 5 GCSE's A to C or equivalent qualification
* Good practical skills and be able to communicate effectively with others
* Be aware of Health and Safety in the workplace
* Have good communication and listening skills
* A positive attitude and be keen with an eagerness to learn
* A good work ethic is essential
* Able to work as part of a team
* Attention to detail
* Good practical skills
The candidate must be able to travel to site for early morning starts, working a 40-hour week Monday - Friday
