Porter -

Looking for a Hospital Porter. you will be undertaking tasks such as patient moves in wheelchair and by bed trolley from one part of the building to another, collecting and delivering goods, pharmacy, post etc

Hours required weekly -Mon-Fri 9hrs/day including 1 hour unpaid lunch break -Ideally to work on a shift pattern between the hours of 0730 and 2000, but at the least could manage with a day worker (Apply online only)

DBS required (if current DBS is for another role we could allow immediate start by undertaking a Risk Assessment as long as a DBS was being undertaken)

Key Responsibilities:

- Escort patients between departments, wards and buildings

- Transport equipment, medical records, medical gas bottles, clinical waste, and linens

- May use mechanical aids to carry out duties

- Work associated with a mortuary

- Provide and receive routine information, to inform work colleagues, patients, clients

- Organise own day to day work tasks or activities

- Manipulate trolleys, wheelchairs, beds; tugs and other mechanical aids

- Provide personal care to patients/clients

- Provide a portering and security service to patients

- Follow departmental policies

- Maintain security - Locking and unlocking of entrances and exits

- Safe use of trolleys and other equipment

- Record personally generated information

- Responsible for storage of data

- Process own timesheets, work records Security of CCTV information

- Undertake surveys or audits, as necessary to own work

- Complete staff surveys where required

- Work under supervisor's instructions

- Work in accordance with portering and security manual

- Move patients; push and pull patients in beds, trolleys and wheel chairs

- Check patient details, medical records and gas cylinder gauges

Key Requirements:

This role may occasionally involve distressing or emotional circumstances.

Due to the possibility of contact with vulnerable groups the successful applicant will be subject to satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

You will also be required to complete an NHS application form.
