FTC 6 months
Part Time, 21 hours per week
£27,714.88 per annum pro rata plus excellent benefits (starting salary is subject to experience)

Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity. We now help around 190,000 cats and kittens through our network of over 250 volunteer-run branches and 34 adoption centres and homing centres.

We are recruiting for some extra cover on a fixed term basis for this exciting role to join our neutering team and help us fulfil one of the charity’s main objectives.

You will be involved in helping us deliver our regional feline neutering projects and initiatives to local communities, recruiting volunteers and raising awareness of the importance of neutering as part of responsible pet ownership. You will be making a real difference to the cats and kittens, enabling them to lead happier and healthier lives.

Our subsidised neutering campaigns provide financial assistance to much loved pets as well as stray and feral cats who are not lucky enough to have an owner to care for them. All of our projects have human behaviour change principles embedded within them and this is an important measurement of our work.

The role requires excellent organisational skills, initiative and the ability to engage with people and communities at all levels. You will be a strong self-starter with a passionate and positive attitude.

Experience with working within communities or social enterprises and developing relationships with different types of community groups is desirable but not essential. An animal science or welfare background is also desirable but not essential. You will need a full driving licence. You will need excellent organisational and communication skills with a positive and flexible approach. Most of all, you will be passionate about cat welfare, the charity and what we do as well as wanting the very best for cats and kittens across the UK.

Closing Date: 14 November 2018
Interviews: TBC

To reward you, we have a pay scheme which provides the opportunity to progress within your pay band, subject to satisfactory performance. We also offer a range of benefits which include a generous holiday entitlement, a competitive pension offering, a private medical scheme, and a death in service scheme.

Cats Protection is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.
