Project / Account Director (Events)

We have the pleasure of working with an exciting Events Agency based in South London, and they are growing. They now need an experienced Project / Account Director (Events) to join them as soon as possible, the role will be split between business development and managing the project teams.

You must have agency experience, client-side candidates need not apply, as you wont be considered.

By combining the breadth of experience and knowledge of the business division, they are able to provide a winning formula for successful activation across a wide range of locations including outdoor events and festivals, high foot fall areas, shopping centres and pop ups. Their clients include Moët Hennessy, Heineken, Super Cell, Pernod Ricard and many more global brands.

With this in mind they are looking for an energetic and career-driven Project / Account Director who enjoys festivals, live events (brand activation, retailtainment, brand experience, corporate, contract, sports, agency and consumer). Reporting into the Head of Agency / Client Services Director, you will be responsible for effectively delivering on projects and campaigns and managing your tasks and time with a high degree of autonomy, consistency and attention to detail.

The Project / Account Director will be a key day to day client contact at senior brand manager and marketing manager level across multiple Clients. You will build and maintain strong relationships with their clients, developing a culture of trust and leading client entertainment and lead positive relationships with team members and with all other key stakeholders, and maintaining the agency's ways of working. Other key responsibilities include:

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Strong business development skills
  • Lead the scoping of projects in response to briefs using key response tools
  • Competently lead Client strategy and include the strategy and planning team when appropriate
  • Keep abreast of current trends in the industry
  • Work closely with CSD to develop pitch proposals
  • Confidence to present proposals to senior clients as part of a pitch team

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Support the Client Services Director in the day to day running of the agency
  • Direct and lead the delivery of the teams projects (on brief, on time, in budget)
  • Oversee regular project status meetings with your team
  • Ultimately accountable for each Client's budget and portfolio P&L, ensuring all budgets stay on track and projects deliver their GP and contribution targets
  • Understand the financial context (e.g. targets set) and be able to talk about it confidently using the appropriate terminology
  • Work with the senior managers reporting to you to scope and sign off full budgets, with input from all other appropriate departments, including clearly outlined R&R planning
  • Ensure strategic targets remain on track as projects progress
  • Deliver end of event reports of campaign results, including key stats and KPI's achieved
  • Collect and use data to inform new campaigns and the evaluation of existing campaigns
  • Ensure the brand values are adhered to in campaigns and in all communication channels
  • Ensure contractual obligations are met, closely work with Procurement / CSD during the contract negotiation process understanding both commercial and creative objectives

ESSENTIAL:

  • Solid experience in the live event / festivals / sports events / sponsorship sector
  • Solid proven experience in business development and project management
  • Strong client management experience
  • Personable, confident and outgoing with excellent face-to-face and written communication skills
  • Leading pitches
  • Strong commercial acumen – fully P & L accountable
  • Producing regular reports including P & L's for the CSD and managing directors of Peppermint
  • Confident working with a high degree of autonomy
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Relationship building & strong communication skills
  • Experience challenging budgets and overspends
  • Ability to contribute to the creative aspects of a project
  • Excellent organisation and time management
  • Ability to prioritise and juggle a varied and sometimes heavy workload
  • Willing to attend events and festivals both during and outside of regular business hours
  • Computing and business software skills particularly Office, PowerPoint

PREFERRED:

  • Knowledge and/or experience of alcohol brands in the industry
  • Working on site at events
  • On-trend knowledge of F & B offerings at events
  • Full Clean Driving Licence
  • Strong event production knowledge
