Your Responsibilities:
Are you energized by a highly visible finance role that allows you to build partnerships with the business, help influence senior stakeholders and shape the strategic business plan? If so, the Finance Manager role within Category could be an excellent opportunity to explore.

Category is responsible for delivering a long-term sustainable cost competitive growth strategy and innovation pipeline as well as partnering with the Regions to deliver the annual P&L commitments.

This role provides financial analysis, business problem solving as well as planning & reporting support for both the Oral and Skin Health categories. The key stakeholders are 2 Global Business Leaders as well as the Category Finance Director.

The job holder must strike the critical balance between a) being an integral, supportive member of the Category team and b) retaining the necessary distance and objectivity to question & challenge where necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide input and financial support to the long range and strategic planning process, identification and quantification of organic and new business opportunities as part of 3/1 Plan, divestment analysis as required and investment spending resource allocation (A&P). These activities will also support inputs into the bi-annual Category Growth Team (CGT) meetings.

• Prepares the monthly Performance Review deck for Skin Health together with the Category FD.

• Effective financial control of the Oral and Skin Health Category OPEX, including month end close activities specific to Category spends,

• Provide input and financial support to all strategic category projects e.g. capital investments and licensing opportunities.

• Responsible for Financial Evaluation of Innovation Projects challenging the team how to increase size of prize, reduce cost or mitigate risk. Supports Category FD in preparing for monthly Project Management Board and quarterly Brand & Innovation Reviews

• Ensure close financial alignment between R&D, Category and markets on innovation projects. Support the Category FD to ensure that the pipeline forecast is robust and drive Category intervention in areas where innovation sales are below target.

• Working at a strategic level with the Category & Supply Chain teams to ensure the manufacturing strategy (e.g. network of sites, SKU portfolio, contract manufacturing network, value engineering initiatives) is optimized to drive gross margin improvements.

• In partnership with Business Analytics team, support development of brand pricing strategy including brand pricing maps to drive for markets to implement price increases as appropriate.

• Ensure proper internal controls are in place within the Category to be compliant with GSK policies, standards and reporting requirements. Support internal audit of the Category activities as necessary.
