Vegetable Breeder Assistant | Sutterton, Lincolnshire

We're working with a highly regarded and established seed company as they look to appoint a Vegetable Breeder Assistant due to continued expansion.

The business has research & development sites all over the world but as Vegetable Breeder Assistant you'll be based at their purpose-built site in Sutterton, Lincolnshire. This site specialises in field brassica and spinach.

As Breeder Assistant you'll support the Plant Breeders in their day-to-day activities involved in both the spinach and brassica breeding programs such as:
Establishing and maintaining trials on/off site and assisting with transplanting of trials.
Pollinating plants in the glasshouse and hybrid trial evaluation.
Cage seed productions of inbred seed.
Seed harvesting and cleaning.
Updating breeding database and specific project management.

We are looking for candidates who:

Have a degree in a relevant subject.
Ideally have some hands-on experience (ie. internship or placement year) or a couple of years in industry.
Are motivated, enthusiastic and keen to learn and appreciate the need for accuracy in both practical and analytical tasks.
Have great communication skills.
Have a full UK driving licence.
