An exciting opportunity has arisen to join South West Water as a Senior Leakage Technician based in Tolgus in Redruth.
[b]The Role[/b]
The role of the Senior Leakage Technician is to investigate and resolve difficult leakage issues, to mentor both Leakage Detectors and Technicians and to assist in the maintenance of key assets vital to leakage control; such as meters and PRV's. Duties include:
*Reducing leakage from the company's potable water network*Locating and pin-pointing leak positions*Tracing the route of water pipes and fittings*Planning and executing Step Tests' and zero flow pressure tests, ensuring all relevant notifications/authorisations are issued/received*Assisting in the servicing and maintenance of leakage meters and pressure reducing valves*Programming and deploying data loggers (including undertaking signal strength tests)*Liaising with Customer Leakage Team to resolve complex leakage issues from customer's pipe work*Mentoring Leakage Detectors and Technicians to ensure best practice at all times*Substitution duties in absence of Asset Technician*Undertake all work with due care and consideration for health and safety
[b]The Ideal Senior Leakage Technician:[/b]
*National Water Hygiene Certificate, NRSWA Unit 2, Manual Handling, COSHH, Confined Space' awareness, Basic first aid and valve operations training*Extensive experience in all modern methods of leakage control and equipment*Extensive experience in the operation of water supply networks*Proficient in the planning and execution of step tests and zero flow pressure tests*Proven ability to mentor teams and individuals*Full UK Driving Licence*A flexible approach to working hours which includes participation in a standby rotation
