Restaurant Manager
Our client is a luxury 5 star hotel in Royal Berkshire.
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Restaurant Manager to over see the daily running of the hotels Michelin Starred Restaurant.
Essential Functions and physical requirements
- Develop, implement and monitor restaurant sales, service and operational systems to provide a seamless guest experience and maximise business potential
- Manage, lead & inspire a team of food and wine professionals
- Motivate the team to enhance performance, achieve business goals, financial budgets and service standards
- Mentor, train & coach team members
- Manage shift coverage, work load & resource distribution
- Monitor & evaluate team performance & conduct PDPs for team supervisors
- Interviewing, hiring, induction & succession planning of staff
- Manage departmental budge, P&L, Payroll
- Ensure all procedures & day-day performance comply with legislative & hotel guidelines e.g. Health & safety, food handling & hygiene legislation; good HK practice; F&B linen & uniform care
- Identify, implement & monitor new standards to enable service excellence
- Manage, monitor & continually improve service & operational systems to enable seamless guest relations
- Develop, deploy & monitor professional guest service systems e.g.: Reservation system; guest records
- Manage & monitor an effective billing and cash management system i.e. Micros point of Sales
- Proactively monitor & respond to guest comments & feedback
- Drive innovation, identify & resolve issues & challenge current procedures to ensure continuous improvement of service & operational standards
- Review & update menus to reflect Hotel status, industry trends & guest needs
- Conduct sales & marketing activities in order to drive business growth & profit
Qualifications and desirables
- Previous experience in a five star/luxury environment or Michelin starred restaurant
- Excellent written & verbal English is essential
- Experience of Leading a team and people management
- Previous experience of financial and budget management
- Sound knowledge of fine dining and service driven environment
- Hands on approach within the restaurant
- Can commit to weekend working
