CEREAL TECHNICIAN
WE ARE LOOKING TO FILL A NEW VACANCY THAT WILL BE SPLIT BETWEEN OUR GENOTYPING TEAM AND OUR WHEAT HYBRID TEAM.
Responsibilities for Genotyping team: Includes DNA extraction, PCR set up and analysis and general lab support
Responsibilities for Wheat Hybrid team: Includes field work (scoring, harvest, drilling), Glasshouse work (crossing) and supporting team leader.
Post requires: Flexibility, positive attitude, willingness to learn, attention to detail, ability to prioritise and organise.
Position: Would suit an individual with ‘A’-levels, but preferably a degree or equivalent, in a science related subject and basic I.T skills. Previous agricultural/horticultural experience is preferable but not essential. Full training will be provided.
The position is at our Ickleton site and is a permanent, full-time position with weekend work and overtime required at seasonal peaks of the year.
