CONTRACT / PART TIME

21 HOURS ONE WEEK, 14 THE SECOND - ROTATE

GBP13.69 PER HOUR

Adecco are currently recruiting for a Sheltered Housing Officer to work within a Local Authority based in Ealing.

The Housing Sheltered Officer's purpose;

* To comply with Ealing Council's Code of Conduct, Equality & Diversity policy and Health & Safety policy.

* To be the main point of contact for tenants, providing information and assistance as appropriate to enable them to live independently and maintain their tenancy, aiming to make weekly face to face contact with each tenant

* To assess tenants' individual needs to promote well-being and independence, working with tenant's families and appropriate external agencies, preparing and reviewing needs and risk assessments as necessary.

* To be responsible for coordinating resident involvement activities and events, that are accessible, inclusive and benefit the wider community wherever possible, working with the Senior Sheltered Housing Officer and Service Access Coordinator.

* To work with other teams and external agencies to provide a quality non- discriminatory service to all sheltered scheme tenants.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

* Knowledge of services available for older people, the disabled and other vulnerable needs groups.

* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing

* Ability to record information accurately and concisely including the preparation and presentation of verbal and written reports as required.

* Ability to work within a pressurised environment, and in line with set procedures, making decisions and initiating action in a calm, efficient manner

* Ability to work on own initiative with a minimum of supervision

* Ability to use computers to produce documents, store and retrieve data, manipulate and present information and communicate with others.
* Able to use an electronic client management software system.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & MEMBERSHIP (E.G. HCPC):

* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent standard

* Experience of working with older or vulnerable people

* Experience of working with the public in a customer service focused environment

* Experience of dealing with customers on the telephone.

* Experience in using Information Technology
