Overview
Our Client is a major manufacturer with a diverse range of clients across a range of markets. As part of their continued expansion they are now seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their team.
The role requires a professional with experience of working in the manufacturing of metal engineered products. The role is a key component within the Quality Team with direct links into the Operational Team. The roles key objective being to support and improve supplier quality performance through data analysis and continuous improvement processes.
The Role:
* To confidently work within ISO9001 management systems and be a fully trained auditor, both internal and vendor auditing.
* Be an effective communicator.
* Conduct auditing of supplier locations in line with agreed schedule.
* Issue audit reports and ensure they are followed up for closure and subsequent improvements are identified & implemented.
* Facilitate continuous improvement through the supply chain employing LEAN principles
* Act as primary quality contact within procurement team.
* Undertake APQP activity at the vendor.
* Actively promote an ethos of continuous improvement.
The Person:
* Degree or equivalent in an engineering/manufacturing related discipline.
* Understanding of various quality tools and methodologies i.e. JIT, APQP, PPAP, 8D, Pareto charts and statistical data
* Experienced auditor of ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 management systems.
* Computer literate, ability to use MS Office.
* Sound knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
* Ability to review and implement new procedures using correct process.
* Be able to interpret statistical data.
* Special process experience would be a distinct advantage; heat treatment, coating, welding and NDE
