Prestige Recruitment Specialists are currently working with our client, an industry leader in kitchen manufacturing for both the UK and US markets for 35 years, and has now become the UK's fastest growing designer, manufacturer and retailer of fully assembled kitchen cabinets to recruit a Production Team Leader.

Critical purpose of role:

* To support the General Production Manager & Supervisor in the day-to-day running of the department, working closely with all members of the team to ensure goods are produced and shipped efficiently, on time and to standard.

Main responsibilities:

* Assist in performing hands-on production and assembly functions

* Support management and perform supervisory duties when department Supervisor is absent or out of office.

* Motivate and support members of the team to ensure targets are met, highlighting any performance issues to management.

* Continually monitor the department to identify any production issues, including, but not limited to, quality or stock issues, and ensure a prompt resolution is met in order to meet deadlines set by the department manager.

* Assess resources and reallocate staff throughout the day, as required, to ensure all departmental roles are covered by a competent person.

* Highlight any training needs to the department manager.

* Identify any improvements and make recommendations for change.

* Ensure all QC processes are maintained throughout the production process.

* Ensure all physical working spaces meet and exceed company presentation standards.

* Adhere to stated policies and procedures regarding Health and Safety in the workplace, ensuring all team members are using correct PPE and wearing company issued uniform at all times.

* Adhere to procedures regarding the proper use and care of equipment and materials associated with the role.

* Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge in order to effectively perform the role.

Education & Experience:

* Familiarity with company policies.

* Strong understanding of all products (including raw materials, bought-in products and manufactured items) processes carried out within the department in order to support the team.

* Knowledge of quality systems and standards.

* Knowledge of Health and Safety standards and compliance.

* Knowledge of machinery and tools.

* Strong computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office.

* Proven experience in a similar or relevant role
