Senior ICT Infrastructure Solutions Designer
Job Summary:
To take a senior role in the scoping, design, and costing of ICT infrastructure solutions that meet LMG's clients' business requirements. This role includes all aspects of the presales element from initial enquiry stage through to award, and would suit candidates with experience in the infrastructure design and costing of projects up to GBP5m and with familiarity in leading the ITT/RFP, MRFIs and mid/post bid presentation process. This is primarily a hands-on role that will lead and contribute to the technical design of Smart Building projects both within the enterprise and DC segments, ensuring compliance to our clients' expectations and a smooth hand-over to project delivery and ongoing operational support.
Key Tasks:
* Take a leading role within the Presales team providing technical and job costing/estimating expertise as required
* Overall design of ICT infrastructure solutions to meet client requirements - particular experience in ICT cabling is a pre-requisite
* Producing project financial costing sheets and client submissions
* Initiate, manage and engage in client project workshops to define customer requirements for implementation
* Lead the handover of successful bids to the project delivery team
* Preparation of reports as and when required
* Work closely with Operations and Procurement departments
* Conduct site surveys and prepare subsequent documentation
* Able to produce detailed technical proposals, compliance tables and supporting documentation
* Represent LMG in client meetings and presentations
Responsible to:
* Head of Smart Buildings Design Bid
Knowledge & Skills:
* The ability to design & implement ICT infrastructure solutions for various markets including, enterprise, data centre, residential, educational, hospitality
* Indepth knowledge of cabling infrastructure solutions from a broad range of manufacturers including Commscope, Excel, Leviton, Nexans, Datwyler, Panduit, Siemon etc
* Understanding of technical risks in client tender documentation
* Awareness of Building Information Modelling & 3D CAD solutions
* Highly experienced in the design and build of ICT infrastructures for enterprise, data centre and campus fit-out projects
* Fully conversant with the design and estimation of ICT infrastructure solutions, inparticular but not limited to: Copper, Fibre, Voice including all testing & commissioning requirements.
* Fully conversant with the design and estimation of elements associated with cabling infrastructure i.e. frames, cabinets, PDUs, EMS, containment
* Fully conversant with documentation data base systems
* Familiarity and experience in creating framework pricing models both within the UK and across Europe.
* IT literate, proficient MS Word, Excel, Power Point
* Team player with excellent inter-personal and communication skills, both written and verbal
* Excellent time management and organisational skills with high attention to detail
* Self-motivated and proactive, able to work on own initiative
* Good customer care skills
* Highly desirable: demonstrable awareness and knowledge of smart building systems that operate over ICT cabling infrastructures
