You will be part of a dynamic Team, responsible for delivering an industry-leading, end-to-end, enterprise-wide business continuity and incident management capability. You will lead a team of dedicated business continuity professionals who will influence and provide strategic direction to Communities, and be accountable for the design, implementation and embedding of the strategy, policy and standards for business continuity across the Society, in line with Industry best practice. You will be responsible for achieving and maintaining ISO22301 standard for Business Continuity, enabling the Society to identify and manage current and future threats whilst driving a proactive approach to minimizing the impacts of incidents. You will be required to work with complex technical and non-technical business matters, recognise and communicate business / member impact with meticulous written communication skills. You will have or be able to demonstrate: * A proven track record of leading and managing teams, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of services in line with regulatory and business standards * Previously held a management position (preferably with experience in incident and crisis management) * Ability to stay focused and provide direction and leadership throughout the periods of high pressure created by major incidents * The ability to think strategically, demonstrating thought leadership and the ability to translate and implement concepts; whilst influencing senior management and Community Leaders to support and fund the potential future improvements * Experience of developing and maintaining professional business relationships with key contacts up to Community Leader and Director level It would be nice if you also had:* A degree or relevant industry certification in business continuity, incident management or risk management * Detailed understanding of Business Continuity and Resilience regulatory requirements and industry standards, including BA23; BCI Good Practice and ISO 22301. * Sound experience in financial services including significant proven business continuity and or incident management experience * Membership of the business continuity institute (e.g. MBCI) What you'll be doing You will define and deliver the Society-wide business continuity strategy to maximise service availability and deliver against our strategy. This is a high-profile role and you will work with senior stakeholders through engagement with Community leadership teams, and via project sponsors for strategic investment programmes, to ensure that the requirements of the Business Continuity and Incident Management strategy (and supporting policies) are realised. This will include defining the business continuity policy and standards for the Society, and driving the organisation to achieve the agreed strategy outcomes and standards using a combination of controls, processes and investment. You will be responsible for achieving and maintaining ISO22301 standard for Business Continuity, enabling the society to identify and manage current and future threats whilst driving a proactive approach to minimizing the impacts of incidents. The role will ensure that effective local and strategic exercising is executed to an agreed plan to evidence the Society's ability to respond to failures in systems and processes, and evidence Nationwide's resiliency capabilities to the regulator. You will be required to be part of a formal on call 24-hour rota enabling rapid response to issues or problems that may arise in the business. You will work to tight deadlines and respond at short-notice therefore you will need a good level of personal resilience and self-motivation to get you through the challenging times.
