Plant Packer - Mail Order Operative

This company is a large independent, family run Garden Centre which includes a Mail Order department that specialises in hedging plants, fruit and ornamental trees. They despatch all year long, but are busiest during winter when they send out bare-rooted plants employing 12 people in their despatch team.

The role will be working with the mail order team planting stock, picking, packing and despatching orders and general assistance within the department and other departments in the Garden Centre.

This role requires attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to work under pressure, to work well in a team and happy to work outside in all weathers. It will include some heavy lifting.

Basic plant and computer knowledge would be useful but full training will be given. The ability to drive tractors and/or forklifts would be beneficial, but training will be given. Driving tractors or forklifts is not a requirement of the job.

Full time (40 hours/week, 8:30am to 4:30pm). There will be some opportunities to do overtime (working until 5:30pm and on Saturdays). Short term contract from October to early January or April.
