Senior Android Engineer

Location: Nottingham, UK
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum + pension
Start Date: Immediate

This company are leading developers of software solutions for wearable technologies and are part of a group who develop systems such as the Solos smart-glasses for cyclists and head-worn systems for enterprise and industrial use.

They are now looking for a new member of the team to help develop Android applications that form part of wearable product systems. The successful candidate will help to design, architect, develop and release solutions deployed to consumer and enterprise environments.

Specific duties:
- Development and testing of Android applications
- Contribution to weekly sprint planning meetings and technical input for other team members' tasks and general technical leadership
- Creation and maintenance of documentation

Essential Experience/Skills:
- Minimum of five years' commercial experience developing Android applications, covering the whole application life cycle
- Specific knowledge of at least three of: Bluetooth Classic, Bluetooth LE, ANT+, NDK, Audio System (audioflinger), Google Maps API, GPS, SQL, Activity/Fragment life-cycle
- Proven organisational skills and a thorough approach to development work
- Experience working in an AGILE development environment

Desirable Experience/Skills:
- Commercial experience of either C#, C, C++, Objective-C, Swift, ARM
- Using/deploying Azure instances
- Exposure to other mobile platforms

- Must be eligible to work in the UK
