Glanbia Cheese is a joint venture between Leprino Foods (based in the US & the worlds largest Mozzarella cheese maker) and Glanbia plc (an international nutritional solution and cheese group based in Ireland) which gives Glanbia Cheese an excellent pedigree in the sector. We are looking for a very talented Procurement Manager, with the aspirations to not only work with a number of farmers but also join a thriving business at the pinnacle of the dairy sector.
The Role:
This role has a very large scope and not only requires the day-to-day management of milk procurement but also for you to get involved with the overall strategy of the business, hence you will be reporting directly to the CEO. The business at the minute has around 250 direct supply farmers and currently utilises 300M litres of milk a year.
As mentioned the day-to-day will be liaising with suppliers with regards to milk quality, disease and residues but also keeping on top of current relevant topics within the dairy industry and how they will relate to your supply base or the future supply to the business. You will also be working with senior members of the team to put together and deliver a procurement strategy that satisfies the milk requirements of the facility in Anglesey. This will have cost effectiveness and sustainability as the crucial aspects to focus on.
Critical to all the above is the relationship building piece that goes hand in hand with working in agriculture - trust and good relationships with suppliers will be the corner stone of this role.
The Successful Candidate:
To be successful in this role you would have some of the following:
Educated to degree level or similar in one of the following sectors: agriculture, agribusiness, agri-food, fmcg or business.
At least 5 years' experience in agriculture related activity, dairy industry would be preferable but all livestock and agriculture will be considered.
Brilliant communication, presentation, relationship building and analytical skills which will help you build the successful relationships which are paramount to this role.
Experience in commercial and financial planning would be desirable.
This role comes with a very good basic salary reflecting the experience of the candidate, bonus, car & health care for you and partner.
